DR.SRK to receive doctorate in arts and culture from British university
Routed through roots
whassup, doc? Shah Rukh Khan |
According to reports, the ceremony will be held at Hotel Courthouse, London, and Shah Rukh will receive the degree from Vice-Chancellor Les Ebdon.
The official website of the university states that the actor was nominated by Routes 2 Roots, an NGO that endeavours to bring together people, cultures and values from across southern Asia; in particular, India and Pakistan.
This isn't the first honour bestowed upon SRK by a country. Last year, he received the Malaysian title of Datuk, which is on the lines of receiving a British knighthood.
The University of Bedfordshire has a huge population of Indian students and Shah Rukh has personally agreed to attend the event and receive the honour himself.
At the moment, the actor is shooting in the US for Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan and is expected to take a break and travel to the UK to attend the event.

SRK loses to SRK
Farah's successful track record has put the brakes on Anubhav's Ra 1 temporarily. She will begin shooting her film Happy New Year ahead of schedule, while Ra 1 has been pushed from September to next year.
A few days ago, we told you how Farah Khan had to rush with the script of the first half of Happy New Year to San Francisco where Shah Rukh is shooting currently. It was a known fact that Farah was supposed to start her film only early next year. We hear, Eros International insisted that Farah's film should start this year, by the end of November.
Ra 1 is being presented by Eros International and produced by Red Chillies. It was slated to go on the floors before Farah's film, "That's true," says the source, "But when Eros studied the project Ra 1, they felt that this film may not derive sufficient returns in today's economy. They felt that it would be better if the commercial director Farah Khan put her project on the floors first. They wanted to back that first and wait for things to improve on the economy front. They will go with Ra 1 but only at a later date."
Mumbai Mirror had also reported on June 27 that Shah Rukh has been advised not to indulge in heavy-duty action. This, combined with Farah's track record, has come in the way of Anubhav Sinha's film.
Despite repeated calls and text messages, Eros International CEO Sunil Lulla remained unavailable for comment.
Happy New Year stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead. The remaining cast is yet to be finalised. Farah also has to complete the script of the second half of the film.
Dr Shah Rukh Khan ?
The King Khan was chosen by Routes to Roots, an NGO which is member of the World Association of Non-Governmental Organization (WANGO) that works with universities and educational trusts in various countries.
An elated Shah Rukh says, "I am delighted that Routes to Roots nominated me for the honorary doctorate in arts and culture from the Bedfordshire University, Britain, and it will be my pleasure to receive it personally July 10 in London."
Bollywood actors who already have conferred the doctorate include Amitabh Bachchan, Shilpa Shetty, Akshay Kumar, Shabana Azmi, Dilip Kumar and now our very own King Khan.
"We are absolutely delighted to confer the honorary doctorate on Shahrukh Khan. He has made an outstanding contribution to the arts, culture and media which are recognized around the world," says Ashraf Jawaid from the University of Bedfordeshire.
The 'Badshah of Bollywood' is currently in San Francisco where he is shooting for Karan Johar's next 'My Name is Khan'. He is slated to reach London in July 7 to receive the doctorate.

Shell out 250$ for a pic with SRK at an US hotel
PS: Think we haven't heard of Photoshop, guys?
When Indian movie stars shoot aboard, fans travel from far and wide to catch a glimpse of the homegrown actors.
The management of Hotel Fairmount in San Francisco, USA got a whiff of SRK's superstardom when fans from literally all over the States started pouring in to catch a glimpse of the actor. They came up with a master plan to cash in on their guest Shah Rukh Khan's star power.
Table for all
A source from the US reveals, "Shah Rukh is currently in San Francisco shooting for the last leg of Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan. And he has agreed to use his spare time for a good cause. SRK fans can book a table at the restaurant for one night when the actor will mingle with the patrons."
Prices to pay
The source further adds, "If they wish to take a picture with their favourite star, they will have to shell out $250 (approximately Rs 12,000) and if they wish to have dinner on the same table as the superstar, there is a bigger price tag. The dinner is scheduled for some time next week when SRK will get a night early off work."

Shah Rukh Khan's 'Ra 1' postponed
Shah Rukh Khan has postponed his ambitious Sci-fi action thriller Ra 1 to next year.
The delay will give him enough time to fully recover from his shoulder injury sustained on the sets of Dulha Mil Gaya, and be fully fit for the intense action sequences planned in Ra 1.
The postponement follows a medical checkup that Shah Rukh underwent in the US where he is currently shooting for Karan Johar's, My Name is Khan, with co-star Kajol.
The Anubhav Sinha helmed Ra 1 was to go on floors in September 2009 after having been earlier pushed back from February 2009 due to SRK's injury.
SRK will play a superhero in the film which will be replete with SFX and state of the art gizmos.
"SRK has been suffering because of his shoulder injury. He had injured himself on the sets of Dulha Mil Gaya a few months ago. After his surgery, SRK started shooting for Karan Johar's My Name is Khan, which he will soon complete. However, he decided to temporarily put Ra 1 on hold as he is required to do some serious action sequences in the film," a source told Mumbai Mirror.
On completing My Name is Khan, Shah Rukh will start filming for Farah Khan's Happy New Year.

Shah Rukh out of action!
A source said, "SRK has been suffering because of his shoulder injury. He had injured himself on the sets of Dulha Mil Gaya a few months ago. After his surgery, SRK started shooting for Karan Johar's My Name is Khan, which he will soon complete. However, he decided to temporarily put Ra 1 on hold as he is required to do some serious action sequences in the film. SRK decided to push Ra 1 to 2010 after he recently went for a check-up in the US where he is currently shooting for Karan's film. After the check-up, SRK felt the time is not right to do the action film as there is quite a high risk that his injury will aggravate if he doesn't take it easy. Now, SRK has decided to first start Farah Khan's film Happy New Year."
This is the second time that Ra 1 has been put on hold. It was first supposed to go on the floors in February 2009 but was pushed to September due to SRK's injury. The actor was so excited about the action film that he had planned to go on a strict diet to get in shape. Shah Rukh plays a superhero in Ra 1, which is full of SFX and state-of-the-art gizmos just like Bond films. SRK was so excited about this science fiction film that he had even suggested the title.
Director Anubhav Sinha patiently heard us out and promised to call back but he was later unavailable for comment.

SRK wanted in Maldives
First, to see her film about the challenges of a deaf and dumb boy set the ball rolling. Second, to meet Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan.
"I really hope to meet him (Shahrukh Khan). Can someone arrange it for me?" Fathimath asked.
"While the other two Khans (Salman and Aamir) are popular in the Maldives, Shahrukh is the biggest sensation," said Fathimath, whose most recent film "Yousuf" has been pegged as the highest revenue grosser in the Maldives.
Speaking about "Yousuf", she said the 173-minute film underlined the steely determination of a deaf and dumb boy and his right to live in normalcy along with the rest.
"We received a terrific response in Maldives. But the film's theme is universal. We are sure it will strike a chord with the viewers here," Fathimath said.
She said films from both countries were similar on several counts.
"Most of our mainstream films are musicals too and a lot of our films have a romantic storyline, like the ones in India," Fathimath said.
Hassan Sinar, producer of "Yousuf" who accompanied Fathimath to Goa, said the film industry in Maldives was years behind India as far as the technical aspect of filmmaking was concerned.
"Technically we are not so qualified. But we are picking up now. It's a relatively new industry in Maldives. We are making an average of five to six films a year back home. Nothing compared to the film industry here," Sinar said.
Obama to be casted with SRK

The film is currently being shot in San Fransisco and other parts of United States. The production has already appointed a casting agency and the search is on for an African American who can resemble Obama & play & act like him.
King Khan will have some key scenes with the President Obama in the film, though the exact nature of the story connect between the two is yet not clear as what is Obama doing in a film which revolves around SRK'S real life.
The film also stars Kajol who will be seen opposite King Khan after almost 9 years. Their last film together was Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gum.
With Shah Rukh and Kajol's on scree hit jodi & the new US President Obama , 'My Name is Khan' is surely the most awaited film.

Now I want to spend as much time with them as possible," she said.

Talking about the show, she said, "We have got an excellent response for this show. I was quite surprised to know that Shah Rukh Khan [Images] liked the show. I really don't know how he gets the time to watch television. I guess his son Aryan must have liked the show and that is why he saw it because SRK [Images] normally doesn't watch TV."
After wrapping up the show Farah will head to the US for Karan Johar's [Images] My Name is Khan which stars Shah Rukh and Kajol [Images]. "I have a 4-5 days schedule for My Name is Khan where I'm choreographing a song. Karan was sweet enough to even adjust his dates for me. I don't know what I am going to do," she added.
After her commitment to My Name is Khan, Farah plans to concentrate fully on her kids. "I will dedicate my full time to my kids. I want to see them growing up. Films and other such promises will keep coming in future but this time with kids will not," she said.
Speaking about her cameo in Milab Javeri's film Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai, Farah said, "They told me it's a cameo and made me shoot for six days. I asked them whether I was the second lead of the film [smiles]. I went for the dubbing which has come out well. I can play only myself because I am a bad actor."
Talking about her new project Happy New Year, she stated, "Things are shaping up slowly. My script will be ready by the end of July."
Farah is also doing a chat show for a popular channel but didn't give any details.
Happy New Year, SRK, Farah!
Farah Khan is delighted that she will be enjoying the company of her good friends Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar in San

Farah will be handing over the script of the first half of her forthcoming film, Happy New Year, to Shah Rukh. Farah also hopes to zero in on some technicians for her film while she is there.
So who will look after her triplets — Anya, Diva and Czar, when she is away? Farah replied, "That won't be a problem. Shirish (Farah's husband) is very co-operative. Moreover, I am not going for too long. I will be back in 5-6 days."
After her return, Farah will start working on the script of the second half of Happy New Year. "It's final now. We start shooting by end of this year," she said.

Seminary issues fatwa against SRK, draws flak
Bareilly: A seminary in Bareilly has issued a fatwa (edict) against Shah Rukh Khan though the actor has clarified that his comment on Islam in a luxury magazine was published wrongly.
"A person making a remark like the one attributed to Shah Rukh is a kafir (non-beliver) and is struck out of Islam," said the fatwa issued by Mufti Mohammed Shoeb Raza Qadri and Mufti Muti-ur-Rehman of Darul-uloom-Mazhar-e-Islam on Monday.
In an Islamic state the person who makes such comments is liable to be killed, it said. His marriage also stands nullified and if the person making such statements dies as a "Kafir", then he must not be buried in a Muslim graveyard.
The person making such a remark must offer an immediate apology to return to Islam, the fatwa said.
Khan has strongly denied the comments attributed to him in an interview published in a magazine, saying he had been misquoted.
Bareilly-based Markazi Darul Ifta, which is responsible for issuing fatwas for Barelvi sect, dismissed the decree saying the move by the two clercis was "unnecessary".
"If someone is saying that he has not made statements (against Prophet), then what is the need to issue a fatwa," a spokesperson of Markazi Darul Ifta Maulana Shahbuddin said.
Darul-Uloom Deoband spokesman Ashraf Usmani said, "We have no plans to issue such fatwa. The fatwa issued against Shah Rukh is not significant," he said.
Another cleric Maulana Yaseen Misbahi said: "such kind of fatwa should not be issued on the basis of media reports."
Jamiat-Ulema-e-Hind spokesman Maulana Abdul Hamid Noamani echoed Darul-Uloom Deoband spokesman Usmani, saying, "When Khan himself is saying he has not issued such statement, then what is the point in issuing such a fatwa."

SRK goes to B-school!
After his last two stints as Quizmaster went bust, Shah Rukh is all set to sail uncharted waters again by turning Quizmaster for India's premiere B-school IIPM for their annual business and marketing quiz program.
Economics we understand, with the amount of ads he's done, along with the ones in his kitty the actor sure knows how rake in all that moolah. Not all of his ventures have fared as well as the actor would have thought. Kaun Banega Crorepati and Kya Aap Paachvi Pass Se Tez, both of which Shah Rukh hosted came and went without a whiff in the air.
Still with his latest debacle at the IPL, the actor is trying hard to make up for all those losses, and what better than the telly, his tried and tested friend. "Everything we do at IIPM is grand, distinct, pioneering and above all else global," Arindham added. StarBoxOffice hopes Arindam's latest venture works well in his favour considering his last film outing debacle... Rok Sako Toh Rok Lo Arindam Ko!

KJo terrified after SRK backlash
After the backlash to Shah Rukh Khan's statements on Prophet Mohammad, a terrified Karan Johar intensifies research for My Name Filmmakers have to be careful when making films on subjects that might hurt people's sentiments. And more so, if the filmmaker is Karan Johar, making a film on terrorism with Shah Rukh Khan in the lead. Given the flurry over the actor's recent comments on Prophet Mohammad, Karan has gone back to his research books, lest his film, My Name is Khan causes any controversy. Karan knows he's walking on glass here with his film and is taking every precaution to see that he doesn't cross the line. In fact, all filmmakers are putting in extra effort to make sure that they maintain religious and cultural decorum. From Rahul Dholakia, who is making Lamha on Kashmir and the issue of identity in the valley, to Kabir Khan, whose New York is about an NRI Muslim's confinement in the US for suspected terrorism, they're all praying that their sensitive films be taken in the right light. They're hoping that the intolerant sections of the society do not raise an outcry for apparent slights to their religion and beliefs. Following the unforeseen volatile reaction to Shah Rukh's statements, Karan is re-checking the facts that form the basis of his research on the film. Reveals a source, "My Name is Khan is a new territory for Karan. He has never done such a subject before. Though Karan insists it's humane not a political subject, the fact is My Name is Khan is about Islamic isolation and about one individual Muslim's fight for his dignity in an increasingly hostile world. The last thing Karan wants is fundamentalist groups questioning him about the film." There are already murmurs of protest against the film and it can be recalled that while shooting in the US, the unit was denied permission to shoot in a local mosque and a few Muslim members of the unit were simply denied visas to go to US for the shoot. Our source adds, "Karan is only more adamant now and won't have his film stopped by protestors. My name is Khan and Qurbaan, his films on sensitive subjects continue to have Muslims Shah Rukh and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles." | |

Crazy loving you
"I was destined to higher studies or elite team sports but I chose to major in filmmaking. People say I now rule Bollywood, but the way I see it, I simply work hard on making endless opportunities to challenge and reinvent myself. A cross-over to Hollywood is not an option: I'd rather make a mark without losing my identity and my culture. My name is Shah Rukh Khan and I share TAG Heuer's values."
– Shah Rukh Khan on things in common with TAG Heuer
If your home was burning down, what would you save with your two hands?
My children — son Aryan and daughter Suhana.
You are no fan of …
Restaurants and eating out.
How much power have women got?
As much as they would like to wield… It's just that they need to believe in themselves.Women are more powerful than men, I'm a true believer of that. But sometimes they don't wield it because they feel it would be wrong. I think they should go out and wield the power.
From your Fairy Godmother you would ask for …
I would ask her to meet my daughter. She loves fairies.
The most impressive figure in history, according to you?
There are lots of them, some negative ones like Hitler. On the other hand there are nice ones like Napoleon, Winston Churchill and if I can call it history, then Prophet Mohammed and from recent times - Nelson Mandela. And also Gandhiji and Mother Teresa who are equally impressive.
What virtue should every man have?
The right thing to do, I think, is not use a modus operandi to make someone fall in love with you. Just be honest and go with it.
For one day I would like to be (Heidi Klum, George Bush, an Eskimo…)
No one else. The world wants to be me, so why should I want to be someone else?
What is your most favourite song ever?
'Suzanna I'm crazy loving you'.
9. Which book made a deep impression on you and why?
I liked the plot and story of Shantaram. The Da Vinci Code is nice as well and so is Bourne Identity. I like fiction; of course Shantaram is not fiction, otherwise Nine Paths of Desire by an Iranian writer is another book that moved me.
Is there anything that angers you in this world?
Not any more, I don't get angry about anything except when people let me down...like if somebody says I cannot do this. I like people who say I can't and I don't and I won't... but I don't like people who say they can, they will and then they don't.
What are you made of? (Which incidentally happens to be the tagline of the brand
TAG Heuer!)
Lot of humour, lot of hard work, lot of perseverance and lot of fun. And I like to believe in lot of honesty.
You are since 2003, a member of the 'TAG Heuer dream team of brand ambassadors' with Tiger Woods, Maria Sharapova, Kimi Raikonnen, Lewis Hamilton and now Leonardo Di Caprio, just to mention a few… it must be something special: how do you feel in this role?
It's very exciting. This brand chooses people around the world who're not only achievers but perfectionists. Ihave seen Leonardo Di Caprio from Titanic, and also other movies before that — apart from being a handsome young man, he is also very intelligent. I saw and heard him speak at the Golden Globe awards. He knows what to say and speaks very intelligently.
Which watch do you generally wear? Do you connect with it as just an accessory or on a personal level?
Fortunately, I have enough TAG Heuer watches to match every mood and occasion. I wear the Carrera Tachymetre when I am relaxing or hanging out. I wear the Grand Carrera for slightly formal occasions. I like to wear my Monaco 69 SRK Limited Edition as well.
Which values of the brand do you share the most?
Sportiness and toughness.

SRK says no to Gowariker
Shah Rukh Khan More Pics |
Apparently, working with Gowariker on Swades wasn't one of the highlights of Shah Rukh's life, but Ashutosh asked him to forget the past and start afresh. Ashutosh also offered him incentives to make up for the experience. Our source said, "Ashutosh even told Shah Rukh that they could co-produce the film and he had no issues with Shah Rukh's style of working on commission basis. But even this did not evoke a favourable response."
Meanwhile, Rani Mukerji is finally over her Yash Raj hangover. Her previous three films under the YRF banner: Laaga Chunri Mein Daag, Ta Ra Rum Pum and Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic tanked at the box-office.
While Shah Rukh Khan remained unavailable for comment, Ashutosh Gowariker chose not to speak.

Shahrukh blames controversy on ‘writing error’
Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan yesterday denied he had "hurt the religious sentiments" of Muslims and said his comments to a magazine were misinterpreted due to a "writing error". Shahrukh Khan
On Thursday, the Mumbai Aman Committee (MAC) filed a police complaint after its members read in the Time'N Style-Luxury magazine that Khan had listed Prophet Muhammad as one of the most unimpressive personalities in history alongside Adolf Hitler and Winston Churchill.
But Khan said it was a "writing error" and that he had named the Prophet among the most impressive personalities in history.
"Obviously I think that there is no more important figure in history than Prophet Muhammad in the most positive way possible. Also, being a Muslim and standing up for the tenets of Islam is my most important agenda. If they (MAC) have seen my interviews on TV about Islam and Prophet Muhammad, they would know it's a writing error and not a thought or view that I believe in," Khan said.
"For all practical purposes, Prophet Muhammad is the most important positive figure in Islam," he added.
The magazine published a corrigendum in all Mumbai newspapers on Thursday accepting the error.
The corrigendum stated: "This is with reference to the interview with Shahrukh Khan that featured in Time'N Style-Luxury Vol-1 issue: The answer to question 'According to you who is the most impressive figure in history?' should have appeared as: 'There are lots of them. Some negative ones like Hitler. Then Napoleon, Winston Churchill were impressive.
" 'If I can call it history then the most impressive, positive figure Prophet Muhammad and from recent times there are the nice ones like Nelson Mandela, Gandhiji and Mother Teresa.' This is a clarification and the error is deeply regretted.'"
A police official, however, confirmed that the case had not been withdrawn even after the corrigendum was published.- IANS

SRK denies 'Prophet' comment
Shah Rukh Khan has clarified that he has never said anything against Prophet Mohammed in an interview.
On Thursday, the All India Jamaitul Quresh, a local Islamic organisation, filed a case against Shah Rukh [Images] at the Bandra police station in northwest Mumbai [Images], accusing the actor of hurting religious sentiments in an interview he granted a magazine.
Shah Rukh denied the comments attributed to him, and said the error had occurred on the part of the magazine's journalists.
In an sms message he sent the media from Los Angeles, where he is shooting My Name is Khan for director Karan Johar [Images], Shah Rukh said, "Obviously, I think there is no figure in history more important than Prophet Mohammed."
"Also, being a Muslim and standing up for the tenets of Islam is my most important agenda... and if they have seen my interviews, etc on TV about Islam, then the people who are objecting should realise that what has appeared is a writing error not a thought or view that I believe in. Prophet Mohammed is the most important positive figure in Islam."
Meanwhile, the magazine in question has been withdrawn from stands; an apology was published in a sister publication of the magazine.

Kajol-SRK cause havoc in San Francisco!
It's the onset of summer in the US of A.
And the west coast temperatures are soaring. But it's less to do with weather conditions and more because our stars have carried our Indian summer into San Francisco already. Yeah, it's the starry starry unit of Karan Johar's My Name is Khan, shooting in SFO that is the cause of the dramatic change in the city temperatures. Apparently the team is having a tough time shooting there, and our sources say that this has been one of Karan's most challenging shoots ever. And we aren't surprised, shooting with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol on the streets of SFO is no mean task, given the huge population of Indians there. Besides, SRK is hugely popular among other non-Indian communities, too. While all that attention is good, it's becoming impossible to handle the crowds and with the shoot being in 'sync sound', they have an almost impossible task getting it at one go without background sounds. They have about 20 more days to go and the unit can't wait to wrap up this gruelling shoot and head back home. Well, the bigger the stars, the tougher it gets. Who would know that better than KJo, right? |
Shahrukh Khan and Karan Johar going places in US
Bravo! Director-producer Karan Johar has taken his cast and crew inside the studio of a top American news channel, in San Francisco. The team of My Name Is Khan recently shot there for a crucial scene.
In fact, for this shoot, Karan took special permission from Stephanie Coyote who is San Francisco's Film Commission Director. Reports are that Karan requested the channel officials not to disclose the news about the shoot but unfortunately it spread like fire and many local Indians gathered outside the studio to catch a glimpse of the stars. But they didn't know that their favourites, Shahrukh Khan and Kajol were not part of the particular sequence which was shot there.

KKR dumps Buchanan: Sources
Even as the KKR top brass refused to confirm the development, sources claimed that the Shah Rukh Khan-owned side today (June 17) informed this to the coach, who now stands sacked after the second edition of the Indian Premier League even though he had a three-year contract.
Source added the team was now considering Buchanan's likely replacement with names like Dave Whatmore, Steve Waugh and Lalchand Rajput doing the rounds.
When contacted, team CEO Joy Bhattacharya said he was not in a position to comment on this episode right now.
"At the moment, I cannot confirm the development," Bhattacharya said.
Shah Rukh's media manager too declined to comment on this saying, "We don't have any such reports. Both Shah Rukh Khan and (co-owner) Jay Mehta are out of station, so it's difficult to comment right now. Whenever, we get any confirmation, we will let you know."
However, the source said the Buchanan chapter was closed soon after the Australian landed a role with English and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
"He (Buchanan) is joining the Englishmen for their Ashes preparation on June 28 in a short-term consultancy role with the ECB, which could develop into a full-time post," the insider said.
"Buchanan was never in Shah Rukh's good books, especially after the team's disastrous show in South Africa. In fact, he (SRK) refused to meet the coach and refused him an appointment at his bungalow in Mumbai," claimed the source.
National Cricket Academy (NCA) head coach Whatmore, meanwhile, dismissed rumours and said he was not being approached for the job.
"I am currently employed by the BCCI. I am not in talks with anyone," the former Sri Lankan coach said.
Buchanan had a controversial stint with KKR in the second edition when he floated his "multiple captaincy" idea that did not go down well with former captain Sourav Ganguly.
As it turned out, Ganguly was eventually replaced by New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Brendon McCullum as the team finished last in the IPL 2.

SRK says he was misrepresented.
Certain Muslim groups have taken objection to Shah Rukh Khan's statements about the Prophet. The actor who is presently in LA says he was misrepresented.
He clarifies, "Obviously, I think that there is no figure in history more important than Prophet Mohammad.
Also being a Muslim and standing up for the tenets of Islam is my most important agenda.... and if they have seen my interviews, etc on TV about Islam, then the people who are objecting, should realise that what has appeared is a writing error not a thought or view that I believe in.
Prophet Mohammad is the most important positive figure in Islam... and anyone who questions my view on that, is doing it for just creating a controversy."

HNY, Anu Malik returns to Farah- SRK camp!
However for her next, OM SHANTI OM, Farah Khan dropped the MAIN HOON NA composer Anu Malik and opted for the more up-market duo Vishal-Shekhar and the 'Dard-e-Disco' fever continues unabated! And now the news is that Farah has once again opted for Anu for his next venture featuring King Khan, HAPPY NEW YEAR. SRK’s Love For Entertainment
Sony's Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, has found a new fan in King of Entertainment, Shahrukh Khan himself..
It so happened that SRK and Farah Khan started chatting about Sony's Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega at the former's place last Saturday where SRK expressed his love for the show.
According to our source, "SRK was not very discreet about his feelings. He completely bowled over Farah about how he appreciates all the contestants and their rare talents."
Our source further adds, "Shahrukh also spoke about the one act which stood out. He vividly remembered the Goan guy Wendell who amazed everyone with his fire stunts. He remembered him so well because Wendell had entertained Shahrukh and other members of Yashraj fraternity sometime in the past."
Our source further goes on to say, "SRK also mentioned that the show is a favorite of his kids and that they are completely glued to the channel when the show is on."
The show is indeed promoting unique talent all over the country. Every week viewers are encouraged to participate if they think they got what it takes. Then they are invited to perform in front of a live audience and the judges Farah and Annu Malek. The search goes on from Monday to Thursday out of which eight people are selected. All eight bag 10,000 rupees. On Friday two out of these eight are selected as finalists who then go on to compete for the grand prize of rupees 5 lakhs.

SRK set to do dangerous stunts in Don 2
So far stunts seemed to have been reserved for Akshay Kumar the daredevil actor from India's Hindi film industry called Bollywood. Stunts or daring actions in Indian films are mostly the handiwork of Akshay Kumar.
Others seem to be happy playing usually old Bollywood themes.
Shah Rukh Khan's first Don film, Don - The Chase Begins Again, directed by Farhan Akhtar, was a remake of the blockbuster 1978 film, Don. The film was released in India on October 20, 2006 and it was also simultaneously released internationally.
It received a very good response worldwide, and collected over Rs. 30 crores in India in its first week itself. The script of the previous film was written by Akhtar's father, Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan.
The film stars Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal, Ishaa Koppikar and Kareena Kapoor in a guest appearance. Eighty percent of the movie was shot in Malaysia, and was filmed around the tropical Langkawi island as well as the Petronas Twin Towers and the Jalan Masjid India area, which is the 'little India' of Kuala Lumpur.
Akshay Kumar was offered for the role of Jasjit but he rejected saying he might have accepted if he was offered the part of Don. Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra underwent special martial arts training for their roles in the movie.
The film was selected to be screened at the Berlin Film Festival. Critical reaction was mixed, with most reviews tilted towards the positive. It was a huge commercial success though.

Shah Rukh recieved the male Star of the Decade, while Aishwarya Rai, Bachchan's daughter-in-law, was adjudged the female Star of the Decade.
While Aishwarya came onto the dais to receive her award, Shah Rukh's "Don" co-star Priyanka Chopra received the trophy on his behalf.

CHECK OUT: SRK bends his rules
Says SRK, 'I don't know yet. I think it's a very lonely job. It's very nice, but am I ready to be so lonely so early? Not quite. I like the sound, the noise and the people. I want to do television, endorsements, Knight Riders and movies. I want to do so much and when there is nothing left to do, then I will direct...'
With the above statement to a reputed international source, SRK has made his stand clear!

SRK to perform daring stunts in Don 2
But now SRK is all set to bounce back with a full-on actioner in Don 2.And there's Priyanka Chopra for company again.
Bipasha Basu who has been eased out of Race 2 firmly believes leading ladies don't have a future in sequels.
But here's one to prove her wrong . Though Priyanka has apparently been left out of Dostana 2 she's very much a part of Don 2 which starts shooting, finally, in May 2010 in Ireland and Berlin.
In fact Don 2 will be the first Indian film to be shot In Dublin.Says the producer Ritesh Sidhwani, "We're very much going ahead with the original cast Shah Rukh, Priyanka, Boman Irani, Arjun Rampal and Om Puri.Only those who died in the original won't return, obviously."
Also, for obvious reasons, this time there won't be a double role for Shah Rukh. What he will be be doing is, some of the most heart-in-the-mouth stunts ever done by any leading man and certainly SRK's most audacious actioner yet.
For this Shah Rukh needs to recover from this year's back surgery. Says a source, "This is why he allotted dates in 2009 to Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan. It requires very little physical exertion whereas Don 2 is a kick-ass role."
When the proposal to do the sequel first came up Shah Rukh was very sure it would have to go beyond the first part in terms of locales, action and drama.
Says producer Ritesh Sidhwani, "We're shooting Don 2 in Dublin .No Indian film has been shot there. We want to make sure that the sequel goes ahead of the first film. While the first part was a remake the sequel is an original script and would be much tougher to film for Shah Rukh and Farhan."
SRK gifts a flat in Bandra as wedding gift to his bodygaurd Yaseen
A gift to remember
Presently, Yaseen lives in Mannat. Realising that he'd need a place of his own after he marries, King Khan thought a house would be the best buy. Moreover, he'd like him to stay close to Mannat. As a result, it had to be Bandra for the bodyguard too!
Says a source, "Ever since he began working with SRK over a decade ago, he has been travelling with the actor wherever he goes, including his overseas shoots. But a single guy living under his roof is quite different from someone who has a wife and wants to start a family. And so,when he told SRK that he was tying the knot, it was clear to both that he'd need a new place. That's when SRK decided to present his most trusted guy a wedding gift he would remember."
On a short visit home
Yaseen, who hails from a small village in Karnataka, will tie the knot with a girl his mother has selected. He is presently on a short visit to his hometown and will join SRK who is shooting for My Name Is Khan in the US later. He says, "I have come home to complete some personal work." Does that spell his wedding planning? Yaseen laughs, "I didn't know my decision to marry would create so much buzz."
Date pushed back
He, however, admits, "Yes, I will be getting married. In fact, it was to happen soon but now I have pushed it back to a later date. I have to go to the US first." The bodyguard is not too keen to divulge details about his wedding. "That's too personal till everything is done, I don't want to say anything."
About SRK's gift he maintains, "He is my boss. And boss hamesha kuch achchha hi dete hai. I don't want to say anything more on this front."
