Shahrukh Khan kissed by a man at Rome Film Festival
It was a grand, glittering celebration of Bollywood with dancers dressed in Indian traditional dresses dancing at the venue of the Rome Film Festival. Yes, the razzmatazz of Bollywood shone through as Shahrukh Khan was welcomed for the screening of his film My Name is Khan.
SRK looked quite dapperly in black tuxedo when he walked the red carpet and dancers showered flower petals on him. Suddenly a guy dressed in sherwani went up to him and not only hugged the star but also kissed him on the cheeks. Shahrukh, who is joined by his entire family in Rome, tweets about his overwhelming experience at the film festival: "Had a wonderful reception at the Rome red carpet for KHAN. Fantastic to feel Roman love with my son in tow...now to Trevi fountain."
But the film's director Karan Johar and its female lead Kajol missed the glitz of the film festival. Explaining Karan's absence, SRK tweets, "Poor Karan couldn't make it. down with malaria...he would have really felt proud about KHAN. missing having him here...he would love Rome."

Shah Rukh Khan Starrer Gets Rare China Screening
Fox Star Studios' Bollywood debut My Name Is Khan will release in China on November 30 with a premiere in Beijing. Directed by Karan Johar, My Name Is Khan was released early this year and revolves around superstar Shah Rukh Khan as a Muslim man living in post-9/11 America.
The film was coproduced by Khan's banner Red Chillies Entertainment and Johar's Dharma Productions and distributed worldwide by Fox International.
"It's an honor, especially since China allows only the release of 20 foreign films a year," said Johar. "I can't remember when the last time an Indian film was released there."
"The Chinese authorities are really hard on foreign films. To be asked to release Khan is an amazing honor," Fox Star Studios India CEO Vijay Singh added.

Is Karan Johar down with malaria?
A suspected bout of the disease keeps Karan Johar bedridden, effectively ending his plans of joining SRK and family in Rome
A sudden bout of high fever and suspected malaria put an end to Karan Johar's plans of flying to Rome ('A Roman holiday for SRK and family', Hitlist, October 22) for the special screening and subsequent release of his film My Name Is Khan at the international film festival held there.
Disappointed
The director developed high fever while shooting for Koffee With Karan and was seen shivering on the sets, even though it was actually quite warm that day.
He came home from the shoot, and crashed. Since then, he has been too weak to move, and hasn't even left his bed.
KJo is disappointed as apart from joining the Roman release of MNIK, he will also miss Shah Rukh Khan's 45th birthday in Berlin along with Gauri and the two Khan children.
The doctor suspects KJo is down with malaria, and till the tests come in, Karan has been advised strict bed rest for a week.
He says, "I am really upset that I couldn't be in Rome. MNIK is truly the most special film of my career and I believe it is SRK's finest performance.
Walking the red carpet with him on such a prestigious platform would have made an indelible memory. Also I have never missed SRK's birthday in all these years, so it's a double disappointment."
Karan was also to record a byte of SRK's for the inaugural episode of KWK in Berlin but now, Shah Rukh will shoot and send the byte himself.
