Just in time for his 45th Birthday is India's film God again Berlin landed. Together with his 13-year-old son Aryan Shah Rukh Khan landed at the airport Schönefeld.
Hard to believe: The assets of the actor is estimated to 230 million euros, but Shah Rukh Khan will travel very cheap with Easyjet. Upon arrival it was first a cigarette and the movie star told us about his cheap-flight: "It was fun. There was pizza and sandwiches. And it was good too. I did not smoke. "

Then we went first to the Kurfürstendamm in a large sports store. Shah Rukh Khan and his son tried and tested on winter clothes flex boards. The Bollywood star was apparently even many birthday gift, because with full bags left to the department store.

Shah Rukh Khan is currently shooting his new action film 'Don 2' in Berlin.

Simply SRK

They say that time never stops, but the footprints of time gone by indicate what's in store. When Mir Taj Mohammed left Peshawar and tediously trudged the dusty roads to Delhi's Rajinder Nagar after Partition, it was destined that the child who would be born to him and his wife Lateef Fatima on November 2, 1965 in Talwar Nursing Home will rule the hearts of millions not just in India where he disembarked, but also across the world including Pakistan which he left behind.

The man who majestically held the sword of Ashoka in the film Asoka, had years ago held the Sword of Honour at St Columba's school after leading his side in football, hockey and cricket. SRK may have done a Mansoor Khan film Josh with a lot of enthusiasm, but then the first film that his mother took him along to see was Dev Anand's Joshila and that too only when he did well in his studies.

He was 19 and she was 14. But when SRK saw Gauri Chibba in maroon corduroys', he was marooned for life. Another meeting set up by his friend Raman Sharma and SRK had Gauri's number with her. There were a few hiccups due to the inter caste relationship, but then the actor who later managed to yank off girlfriends and wives of others (on screen in most films from Deewana to DDLJ, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai to Veer Zaara and Paheli to My Name is Khan) got the girl of his life, never mind if he began introducing himself as Abhimanyu  (his character in the teleserial Fauji).

Six years later they got married and they completed 20 years of their wedding this year. Aryan and Suhana, their children, are also given a similar upbringing where they are taught to respect others and learn to value life and people the same way that SRK and his sister were by their parents.

SRK as Abhimanyu could easily decode the Chakravyuh in Fauji too as Colonel Raj Kapoor who cast him in the serial and extended his role even though none of the six commandos were initially slated to. But the effervescence of the actor forced the director to give him a better role in the serial. Interestingly the Farhan Akhtar film Lakshya has a lot of shades of Fauji.

When SRK entered television, Bollywood films with the big stars were flopping. There was no successor to Amitabh Bachchan. Moreover, Big B was also going through a bad phase.

And here came the actor with his boundless energy and captured the hearts of the millions, first with some bloodthirsty performances in Baazigar and Darr and then romantic films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Dil To Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Soon, he was the Badshah of Bollywood.

His experiments, however with films like Asoka failed, but the actor kept on experimenting. He floated his IPL team, and even made profits in the first IPL itself. Truly Korbo, Lodbo Jeetbo re! His last release from his home production Om Shanti Om was a massive hit even though his last film My Name is Khan could have done better had it not gotten involved in controversies.

SRK's sense of humour is also awesome. Once when yours' truly congratulated King Khan for his film Devdas going to Cannes, he SMSed back ; "Now I will be called Shah Rukh Cannes!"

Now he awaits the release of his biggest ever spectacle for the big screen Ra.One. SRK was to do the sci-fi Robot but the film fell through when director Shankar told him that he wanted to shoot for ten days, look at the footage and shoot again.  And now as Robot and the Tamil and Telugu version of the film Endhiran has broken all box office records, SRK will attempt to prove why he is the biggest star in contemporary Hindi cinema.

Because sometimes what King Khan, Rajni Kant! Cos' SRK Cannes and will be Able!

Did you know
• During his struggling days, he stayed with Aziz Mirza and Vivek Vaswani. He bought his first house when producer Ratan Jain gifted him Rs 7 lakh. In September 2001, he bought the sprawling  23,400 sq ft sea-facing bungalow for Rs 13.5 crore called Mannat where there are only 3 bedrooms, And it is priceless now because SRK stays there. The entire property has a four-storeyed building in it as well which houses a living room, a gymnasium, meeting rooms, a rehersal halls, living rooms and even an office in it.
• Shah Rukh Khan has endorsed 34 brands in all — the highest for an Indian actor. Everyone wants a piece of SRK, be it brands or the agencies.
• Incidentally SRKcan play football with David Beckham because he has a deal with Nakheel Developers in Dubai — a Signature Villa in Palm Islands worth 58 million dirhams! Even Bill and Hillary Clinton are neighbours.
• King Khan's first car was a Maruti Omni which was gifted by his mother. SRK now has six imported cars including the red Pajero which he first bought apart from BMWs, Audi and a Mercedes.
• He has been voted the sexiest man in Asia by the Jade magazine.
• He did his High school from St Columbus High School in New Delhi
• He was an ace in electronics and biology but wasn't good at all in mathematics. Overall, however, he was a brilliant student.
• He captained his school teams in football, hockey, and played cricket as well.
• He graduated from Hansraj College, Delhi University and followed it up with a Masters Degree in Mass Communications (Film making) from Jamiya Miliya Islamiya, in Delhi, but quit it in a year.
• The reason he took up on Mass Communications (Film making) is because he loved the TV commercials.
• For a short spell, Shahrukh Khan ran a restaurant in Darya Ganj, New Delhi.
• He also joined theatre with Barry John. He started out as an actor on the small screen, in Dil Dariya (directed by Lekh Tandon) where he almost went unrecognized because he played a sardarji. Then came his teleserials Fauji, Ummeed and Circus.
• His father ran a transport company and his mother was a magistrate.

Bollywood's King Khan: 45 and worth $540m

Name: Shah Rukh Khan
Age: 45 today

Who's he, then?
You've got to have been living under a rock for the last 20 years, if you're asking that! He's only Bollywood's most famous actor.

Isn't that Amitabh Bachchan?
Not any more – for pretty much since the beginning of his career, Khan has skyrocketed to fame. Having started out on television with the series "Fauji", he began chasing a Bollywood dream in 1991, debuting in the film "Deewana", a 1992 release that won him a Filmfare Award for Best Debut. Three hits the following year, "Darr", "Baazigar" and "Kabhi Haa Kabhi Naa," some of which was pretty adventurous fare by Bollywood standards, quickly won him awards and marked him out as destined for future box-office success.

In 1995, Khan hit the jackpot with Aditya Chopra's directorial debut, "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge", which was a major critical and commercial success. It has enjoyed an unbroken 750-week run at one Mumbai cinema and has grossed an estimated Rs10 billion (Dh825 million) in India alone.

And how's he done after that?
Khan has been part of numerous commercially successful films and has earned critical acclaim for many of his performances. He's won 13 Filmfare Awards for his work in Indian films, seven of which are in the Best Actor category, thus establishing himself as one of the leading actors of Hindi Cinema. In 2005, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri for his contributions to Indian cinema.

I'm sure it can't have all been easy!
No, it hasn't. 1996 and 1998 were terrible years for him, with all the films he acted in that released in those years faring dismally at the box-office. Among them were "Army", "Duplicate" and "English Babu Desi Mem".

But? I sense a but…
He bounced back in 1998, with Karan Johar's directorial debut, "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" and won critical praise for his performance in Mani Ratnam's  "Dil Se…" By 2000, with Chopra's "Mohabbatein", he had firmly cemented his place at the head of the Bollywood pecking order, earning himself the title King Khan, and soon turned his hand to production. He has since been associated with some of the industry's biggest hits, including "Devdas", 2002, and "Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna" (2006), "Chak De India" (2007) and "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi" (2008).

Nice work, if you can get it?
Yes. He has a net worth of Rs25bn ($540 million or Dh2bn), as estimated by The Times of India in 2009. Newsweek has called him the world's biggest movie star, citing his fan following on the Indian subcontinent and in large parts of the Muslim world.

That can't all be money from acting, surely?
No, it isn't. Khan owns two production companies, Dreamz Unlimited and Red Chillies Entertainment (which produced the 2007 runaway hit, "Om Shanti Om"), a stake in several smaller ones and co-owns an Indian Premier League cricket team, Kolkata Knight Riders, ranked the second most valuable franchise brand at $46m. Plus, there's money from lucrative endorsement deals, including commercials for Tag Heuer, Pepsi, Videocon and Hyundai. It is estimated that he earns Rs80m a year from endorsements alone.

What's the UAE connection?
Khan reportedly owns property worth Rs4bn in Dubai alone – including a villa on the Palm Jumeirah and a property on the as-yet-unfinished Palm Deira. That's in addition to endorsing the Dh8bn Shah Rukh Khan Boulevard a beachfront community in the Northern emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, work on which, he said earlier this year, is currently on hold.

But, as he himself says, it's all part of the brand. "I'm just an employee of the Shah Rukh Khan myth," he told the Hindustan Times a few years ago.

And what about his love life? Wasn't he involved with that cheeky director chap, Karan Johar? And also to a slew of actresses?
There's been endless speculation about his sexuality, yes – in much the same way almost every top star's personal life has been pored over under electron microscopes. Khan has been happily married to the sometime television host Gauri Chhibber, with whom he has two children, Aryan, 13, and Suhana, 10.

So what's he up to now?
This year saw the release of "My Name is Khan", a controversial film about post-9/11 prejudice in the United States. Bollywood's most expensive film ever, it made back five times its Rs80m budget, grossing a tidy Rs183m. His next movie, the science fiction film "Ra.One", directed by Anubhav Sinha, is due for release in June 2011.

Shah Rukh Khan turns 45 years, celebrates birthday with loved ones

The Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh turns 45 today. And he might be ageing but there is just no stopping SRK as far as climbing the Tinsel Town ladder goes.

The actor, who is currently in Berlin shooting for his upcoming movie 'Don 2', is joined by his family and friends as he welcomes yet another milestone in his life. With wife Gauri and his two kids, SRK is expected to enjoy the day in a way he likes best- surrounded by close ones.

But it's not King Khan's brood alone that is rejoicing on this special day. The actor's birthday will be celebrated by Makrand Deshpande, who worked with him 20 years ago in 'Circus'. Makrand, who has directed 'Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu', has decided to celebrate SRK b'day at the music release of his feature.

When contacted, Makrand Deshpande said, "It is such a lovely coincidence that we started the film on his birthday, November 2, and now we have our music release on the same day. Kundan, Saeed Mirza, Juhi and all of us are getting together to celebrate his birthday since he is not in town right now. It will be a great gathering of all of us old friends again. Jagjit Singh will also be performing for us in the night."
