@shahrukh_khan on Twitter is an IMPOSTER!

"Really? What evidence do you have?" you might ask. HERE is your answer.

On January 29th this account @shahrukh_khan became quite a trending topic on twitter. I know many bundles of people joined just out of curiosity. Had the King of Bollywood joing the micro-blogging forum?

On January 31st when supposedly reputable news provider DNA confirmed this with the following tweet, many rejoiced.

With some hestitation, I too was hopeful. I asked a few people I trusted & that were able to enquire & investigate, especially since nobody else was confirming the news. My friends over at Bollywood Mantra even wrote a letter to SRK's company Red Chillies to which the account linked itself.

In a few days, things had calmed down. The odd tweet here & there were still emerging from teh account, but the imposter had slipped up. Any avid fan of the King Khan would know he would not be making banana bread. He's stated in interviews in the past that he hates cooking. The big fans understood & stepped back. I thought this would pretty much be the end of it.

Alas, this was not the case. It breaks my heart to 'still' see so many people genuinely believe this account is SRK himself. I am subscribed to the RSS feed showing the replies that this imposter gets. With a few of them I have responded, telling them, but now with concrete evidence, I just had to blog this for everyone to share. Many many thanks to Shak Siyya from Club Asia for asking on behalf of the Twitterville community & for allowing me to share this snippet with you of his interview with SRK confirming that he is NOT on twitter.

‘Happy New Year’ will go on floors this year: Farah Khan

New Delhi, May 12 (IANS) Choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan says that her third film "Happy New Year", which stars Shah Rukh Khan, will go on floors in 2008, denying reports that the movie has been postponed to next year.
"'Happy New Year' will definitely start this year, no matter what. I'm working on the script. It might go on floors on Dec 31, but I'm sure it will begin this year," Farah told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

"It is quite strange that people spread these irresponsible and baseless rumours… Shah Rukh and I don't even know from where such rumours originate," she added.

After directing two blockbusters "Main Hoon Na" (2004) and "Om Shanti Om" (2007), Farah will complete her hat-trick with Shah Rukh with "Happy New Year". Like her first two directorial ventures, this one will also be produced by Red Chillies Entertainment.

Farah started her stint as a choreographer with "Pehla Nasha" for Aamir Khan starrer "Jo Jeeta Woh Sikandar" (1992) and the song was a huge hit. Later she choreographed prominent numbers in films like "Dil To Pagal Hai", "Kaho Na Pyaar Hai", "Dil Chahta Hai", "Monsoon Wedding", "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham", "Krrish", "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna" and "Dostana" among others.

Winner of five Filmfare awards, Farah was also honoured with the National Award in 2004 for directing Hrithik Roshan in the song "Idhar chala main" for "Koi… Mil Gaya".

Recently her name was announced for the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) award for the best choreography in the song "Desi girl" for "Dostana".

However, she is not sure whether she will be able to attend the final ceremony in June in Macau.

"I don't think I'll be able to go this year because of my kids and other commitments. Although I am trying my best to make it. I'm really glad that I got the award for this song," said Farah who gave birth to triplets - Anya, Diva and Czar - last year.

She also added that working on this song was a delight, although making John Abraham dance was a task.

"I loved choreographing 'Desi girl'. The best part was that I had to make two guys dance so passionately. I have a great rapport with Abhishek (Bachchan) so working with him on the song was great. Priyanka (Chopra), I knew is a fabulous dancer so I was not tense on that front.

"My main concern was John (Abraham) because he is not known to be a dancer. Still he worked quite hard and I think he did a great job in the song," she said.

So what does this multifaceted personality enjoy doing most?

"The most I like doing is playing with my three kids. Then on the professional front, I love directing a film, it's very exciting. Choreographing comes a close second and then I enjoy being on reality shows," said Farah who will be donning another cap, this time as a chat show host.

The 44-year-old will be seen as a host on a new show "Tere Mere Beech Mein". It will be produced by 3's Company, a company formed by her and her husband Shirish Kunder.

"I'll be hosting the chat show from next month on STAR TV. It won't be just another celebrity talk show. The show will be based on a specific topic every week. Two guest celebrities and a common man will be interviewed in each episode," said Farah who judged dance reality shows "Nach Baliye" as well as "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa".

Designer glasses for SRK

Well, well, Shah Rukh Khan is one up. The actor, according to reliable sources, has the best collection of reading glasses also. At home in spacious Mannat, that spans across a bungalow and six floors behind, Bollywood's superstar has prescription reading glasses lying in every room that he visits.

Those who have interacted closely with the Bollywood Badshah say, "He doesn't have to carry his glasses from room to room or wear them around his neck like most people do. Whichever desk or table he sits at for reading, signing cheques or for joining his kids in a video-game, he has a pair of prescription glasses lying within reach.'' No wonder, people talk of stars seeing the world through rose-tinted glasses.

Injured player praises Shah Rukh, KKR

Prolific Saurashtra batsman Cheteshwar Pujara [Images], who is recuperating from the injury sustained on the eve of the Indian Premier League [Images] in South Africa [Images], is confident of making a speedy recovery and playing with vigour in the next domestic season.

"It feels sad missing the action and watching the cricket on television at home. But I've taken my injury philosophically," he tells rediff.com in Rajkot. "There's no point being unnecessary sentimental. No sportsman should when it comes to injuries. They're part and parcel of a sportsperson's life."

"I've to accept that I'm injured and can't take the field for a couple of months. But I'm sure I'll be back on the road well before the next domestic season begins. I know the ball is in my court. I've been religiously doing all the physical exercises suggested by the doctors. There's no reason why I can't regain my full physical fitness in due course of time."

Pujara tore his left ligament while fielding for his team, the Kolkata Knight Riders [Images], during a practice match in Bloemfontein on April 13. The injury rendered him hors de combat before the first ball was bowled in the lucrative tournament.

"All my team-mates, including Brendon McCullum [Images] and Sourav Ganguly [Images], showed genuine concern and said they are with me in my hour of crisis. Our coach John Buchanan [Images] and CEO Joy Bhattacharya told me not to worry and promised that the KKR would take care of my medical and other expenses," says Pujara.

Pujara had to undergo an operation and he and his father Arvind Pujara, a former Ranji Trophy player, wanted it to be performed in Rajkot. But the KKR team management insisted that he be treated in South Africa itself.

A reluctant Pujara agreed on the condition that his father and an orthopaedic surgeon from Rajkot should be by him during the operation. The KKR team management raised no objection and even assured him it would bear all the expenses of the duo's visit to the land of rand.

"I was overwhelmed by the KKR for having shown so much kindness and generosity towards Cheteshwar and us. Contrary to whatsoever appears in the media about the KKR franchisee Shah Rukh Khan [Images], I must say I was touched by his magnanimous gesture. It was he who wanted Cheteshwar to be treated in South Africa and approved of our visit as well," adds a visibly emotional Arvind Pujara.

Accompanied by Rajkot's orthopaedic surgeon and sports injury specialist Dr Nirbhay Shah, he landed in South Africa on April 30. They were provided accommodation in the same five-star hotel where Pujara and the KKR team stayed during the conditioning camp.

On May 1, South African surgeon Dr P J Erasmus performed an operation on the cricketer at his Stellenbosch Medi-Centre in Cape Town in Dr Shah's presence. The procedure, in medical parlance, is called left knee arthroscopy and ACL (interior crucial ligament).

"Buchanan and almost all my team-mates either called up or sent good luck messages before I went under the knife. Jai Mehta, one of the KKR owners, called up and said he prayed for my speedy recovery. They all are in regular touch with me since," emphasises Cheteshwar Pujara.

"The operation lasted about two hours. Dr Erasmus did a good job. Cheteshwar has been advised to use crutches for three to four weeks and do some basic exercises. Then he will undergo some vigorous orthopaedic exercises under me," says Dr Shah.

"It is not an uncommon injury among footballers, rugby players and cricketers. Cheteshwar has been cooperating very well and should be perfectly alright before too long. He is famous for his strong willpower. This is what he has to show during his rehabilitation period."

Pujara, his father and Dr Shah returned to Rajkot on Wednesday evening via Dubai [Images] and Mumbai [Images]. "The KKR gave Cheteshwar a business class ticket as his injured leg required larger space to feel comfortable during the long journey. Dr Shah and I travelled economy class," adds Arvind Pujara.

Fate has forced Cheteshwar Pujara, one of the busiest cricketers on the circuit, to take compulsory rest. But the youngster, who is known for his positive approach to life and cricket, has been making the most of it.

He has been reading motivational, spiritual and, of course, cricket books, particularly biographies and autobiographies of famous players, while recuperating from the surgery. His friends and cricketing colleagues from Saurashtra keep dropping in.

"It's almost after a year or so that we are staying together under one roof," says his dad. "He had been so busy playing cricket and travelling that he would be hardly at home. I'm certain he'll be fit soon and start scoring heavily again."

IPL flop gives SRK two weeks off

Shah Rukh Khan is huddled with his family trying to figure out where to go on holiday.

IT is an unplanned break for the Khan family. SRK had booked himself out of Bollywood for the month of May, but the collapse of his team, the Kolkata Knight Riders, in the ongoing Indian Premier League tournament, has meant he has an extra fortnight to kill.

The shooting for Khan's next film, My Name is Khan, a co-production with Karan Johar which marks the star's comeback with Kajol, begins only on June 27 and will go on till July. "Itis not as if he wouldn't have gone on holiday, if the IPL thing hadn't happened," said a source close to the star, "but this has given him a couple of more weeks."

London, where Shah Rukh, wife Gauri and children Aryan and Suhana holiday every year, could be on the list of places to visit this year as well, the source said. "(In London) SRK plays football with Aryan in the park and walks down to the coffee-shop down the road from their house, while Gauri does more touristy stuff," said the source. SRK also "catches up on his reading", the source said.

Meanwhile, is Khan twiddling his thumbs at home? "No, he can't stay inactive," the source added, "he's looking at the Red Chillies stuff." Red Chillies is Khan's production company which makes films and television serials, among other production ventures.

"He also has a day's shoot left for Dulha Mil Gaya," said the source, confirming that the film has not been been fully shot yet. SRK had injured his shoulder on the sets of director Mudassar Aziz's Dulha Mil Gaya last year. He had also reportedly professed his irritation to costar Sushmita Sen, at being asked to do lengthy roles under the guise of a 'special appearance'.

The Khans usually holiday every May or June, ostensibly to escape the worst of the Indian summer. But also, foes whisper, since it coincides with the IIFA awards. The brand ambassador of the awards, Amitabh Bachchan invites Shah Rukh every year, but the younger man has cited family holiday for his absence each time.
