Those interested in the field of automobiles will recall how the Korean Auto giants, Hyundai, made a stunning entry into the Indian market with its flagship brand, Santro. The state of the art hatch-back car, equipped with features like Multi Point Fuel Injection (MPFI), woke up the market leaders Maruti Suzuki from its deep slumber and into a frenzied changeover.
So, why are we talking about cars on a Bollywood site? Well, the answer is very simple! The face of Hyundai Santro is our very own Shah Rukh Khan, and that is known to all and sundry. After Santro, Hyundai introduced a number of car models (in the mid and luxury segments) in the Indian markets, but their sales figures turned out to be a ho-hum affair. However, their year old launch in the Indian market, i10, has made a grand debut. As per the annual sales figures, i10 is one of the top six selling models in India (along with Santro). So, what is common to the two models? Shah Rukh Khan, who else! Once again, Hyundai roped in the services of King Khan and the stupendous results are there for all to see. In these times of recession, these are pretty fantabulous numbers and SRK deserves to be applauded for the same.
