Every match in IPL3 so far has been edge-of-the-seat stuff and TV sets in future should carry health warnings for those with a heart condition or of a nervous disposition - but no game has created more stress so far than the game between Shahrukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders - bottom of the table last year - and the champions, the Deccan Chargers.
It should have been a no-brainer but in a game that could have been a Bollywood script, the Knight Riders edged the Chargers out by 11 runs. It looked all over when the Knight Riders started off with a disastrous 0-2 and again when the Chargers galloped to 100-2 in their first 10 overs, but in both cases, the never-say-die Knight Riders fought their way back out of the pit. "Yippeeeeee, finally got to see my kids & the boys in KKR smiling," tweeted SRK, "Inshaallah, the smiles will continue. Still miles to go, but we will get there."
Meanwhile, the 10-part Discovery series Living With A Superstar - Shahrukh Khan is already winning plaudits for its unique format and the depth with which it analyses the life of India's megastar. Each episode explores a different aspect of his life, his home and family, his movies, his links with product promotion, the IPL, his hobbies and so on. "The idea of the series format is both exhilarating and unique as it showcases aspects of my life that have seldom been seen in the public domain," SRK says, "I look forward to welcoming you all into my life."
Rumours abound that SRK may link up with Leonardo DiCaprio for Paul Shrader's Xtreme City. The two recently met up in Berlin where SRK's mega-hit My Name is Khan was shown at the Film Festival. "It's too premature to discuss the casting of the film," says a source for the movie,"But yes, Shah Rukh and Leonardo did meet up in Berlin. The meeting was just a casual one; they were there for the premiere of their films Shutter Island and My Name Is Khan respectively. The highlight of the meeting was Karan Johar who entertained everyone with absolutely delightful Bollywood trivia."
