Shah Rukh Khan and Kolkata Knight Riders: Too much controversy!

Shah Rukh Khan seems to be in thick of controversial things in whatever endeavour he is involved in.  His so called cold war with the other top guns of Bollywood always finds ample coverage in media, but his stint as the boss of an Indian Premier League (IPL) team- Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has also been plagued with a lot of controversies and filmy dramas.

The IPL season-2 is gaining heat in South Africa, and so is the temperature rising in and around Shahrukh and KKR.  There is a lot happening with Sharukh on the personal as well as his team's front.  On one hand, his team is not performing well in the IPL and at the same time one or the other controversy keeps on hovering to attract media's attention.  At the personal level, Shahrukh is in a spot with the anti-smoking lobby's act of smoking during an IPL match.  The National Organization for Tobacco Eradication (NOTE) is upset with the broadcasters of the tournament which showed the footage of King Khan smoking.

KKR ran into fresh trouble as the team management asked two players of the team Akash Chopra and Sanjay Bangar to return home citing reasons that they did not fit into the team''s scheme of things.  This decision is viewed as another experiment from controversial Australian coach of KKR John Buchanan who was at the receiving end for his multi captain theory and eventually removing Sourav Ganguly from captaincy.  However, KKR's chief executive officer Joy Bhattacharya tried to defend the act by saying that the decision had been taken after the team management met the two players.

KKR has been in controversy much before the IPL season 2 kicked off.  It all began with Buchanan's theory of clipping Ganguly's wings by projecting his theory of multiple captains which raised a storm in West Bengal.  In order to play safe, Shahrukh had to come out with the statement that Ganguly will remain at the top spot, but to every body's surprise he and his team management took a U-turn in South Africa by removing Ganguly from the top job.

There is a major storm brewing inside the Knight Riders camp and the team's dismal performance in the tournament is not helping the cause.  Over the least few days, it was the issue of mystery blogger that crated a stir in the KKR camp, and it is believed that Akash Chopra has been axed for the fact that he was alleged to be the man behind the blog bringing out the issues of the dressing room to the world.

Nothing seems to be going right for KKR and its boss Shahrukh.  There are certain players in the team not happy with the behaviour of coach and his army of support staff and at the same time the team's poor outings have demoralized others as well.  Shahrukh needs to understand the fact that this is not a Hindi movie where the script is destined to end on a happy note.  A lot needs to be done by him and his team.  The need of the hour is to get the acts together quickly or else the dreams of KKR in the IPL-2 could metamorphose into a nightmare.

  1. Hi! Shahrukh,

First of all, let me tell you honestly, with such a heavy heart, the team is not at all performing well... they seems to be taking it very easy in feildling as well as batting... i think you can see that very well....

all of them are not at all aggressive while playing... you should tell them to notice how Shane Warne, Gilchrist, YV etc performs on the feild....

Please do something about it otherwise you will loose and i can't see you loosing... you are a born winner.... Sword of honour... Right???

All the very best from the bottom of my heart
And you are my all time fav star....

    Lots of luv

Hi Shahrukh i like to say that your team is imbalance your opening pair is also not perfect your team captain is not right. your team captain should be Sourav Ganguly because he is a perfect captain and have wining motive.BB McCullum have the tension of captaincy that is why he is not paying properly. team opening pair should be CH Gayle and BJ Hodge and one down should be BB McCullum if opening pair does not work than Sourav Ganguly should open one down because the Sourav Ganguly is man that play a game in situation. McCullum is not giving confidence to player. if u have to make your team to win that use this formula. your batting order like this:-
    1:- CH Gayle
    2:- Moises Henriques
    3:- SC Ganguly
    4:- BB McCullum
    5:- Yashpal Singh
    6:- LR Shukla
    7:- Ajit Agarkar
    8:- Murali Kartik
    9:- Ashok Dinda
    10:-I Sharma
    11:-Charl Langeveldt1
try this team plz. for one time u will win.
team opening bowling pair should be :-
    1:- I Sharma
    2:- Charl Langeveldt1

  5. Hi Shahrukh,

I am very big fan of Sourav Ganguly. Now i would like to tell you some facts which you and your loving Buchanan might have not noticed.

1.If you notice in whole IPL 2 tournament so far most of the seniors are doing extremely well for e.g. Sachin Tendulkar, Sananth Jaisurya, Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble and also Sourav Ganguly at the top in KKRs squad.

    2. All the teams which are at the top right now...
    Deccan - Gilchrist
    Delhi - Sehwag
    Rajasthan - Shane Warne
    Mumbai - Sachin

all captains are senior and experienced.
And most of the young captains teams are at the bottom including KKR (there may be some exceptions).

    3. This is just because they (seniors) have experience about how to play and handle the teams outside in the country like South Africa where environment is much more different than India.

    * Above points may vary as time passes.

So all i want to tell you is that please don't believe this Australians believe in Indians.
Sourav is the one who shown Indians what is "Team India" and now Dhoni taking it forward but don't forget Ganguly started it.

Ganguly is aggressive, passionate about win, has skill to handle the team which all needs for 20-20 games.

So still you have time and change your captain, let the McCullum play his game without any pressure.

Rest is up to you after all you invested your money, but it will be always better to think about Indians sentiments because this will earn money for you....... I am very sure that most of the Kolkata (also from outside) peoples will not buy products which you represent.

I am Maharashtrian and still the very very very big fan of KKR just because of DADA.
So please don't hurt us. Thanks.

    I love you DADA.

  7. hi Shahrukh,
Recent serial defeat makes me to suggest that this is cricket need to perform well under zero pressure. the way decision taken is against unity of team.coach is taking liability of your money and almost used and full enjoyed your sponsered money. moreover i think you believe in "white" player rather than indian talent. well"jaisa karni waisa bharni". enjoy from rock bottom. cong:)
    regards
